Pilates Forever Brand Identity System for a Women’s Wellness Studio

Boutique fitness, women’s wellness

The project for a women’s Pilates studio in the United States required building a brand system from the ground up, not simply creating an attractive visual layer. The studio needed a cohesive identity capable of articulating its philosophy, expressing its focus on women’s practice, and functioning consistently across physical and digital environments. My task was to define a structural approach that connected movement logic, feminine semiotics, and a clear conceptual narrative.

Beyond designing the logo, I developed the brand’s visual behaviour, color structure, typographic strategy, and voice guidelines. The work included dynamic patterns, environmental applications, digital use cases, and a communication logic that extended the core geometry into a flexible ecosystem. This transformed the studio’s presence into a structured, scalable, and expressive brand capable of evolving alongside its community.

The first step was analyzing Pilates as movement. I studied kinematic curves, body anchor points, and characteristic trajectories that appear in key poses. This helped embed the mechanics of the discipline directly into the logic of the logo. In parallel, I explored feminine semiotics within the practice: the symbol of the women’s center and the structure of Yoni Mudra. Both carry clear morphological traits — a petal-like contour, inward direction, and soft cyclical motion.

The brand name, Pilates Forever, introduced another structural layer: the infinity symbol. I deconstructed the infinity shape into base circles, analyzed the constructive intersections, and identified points that could become geometric modules for the final mark. After a series of iterations, it became evident that a reflected system of four circles formed a central structure reminiscent of Yoni Mudra, while the combined silhouette preserved the rhythm of infinity and the visual association with a petal.

A foundation of cyclical movement and continuity, reduced to modular circles that define the core geometry.

Women's center

A symbolic form expressing inner strength and feminine origin through a soft, petal-like silhouette.

Yoni Mudra

A ritual gesture with a distinct internal structure that guided the central form of the logo.

This horizontal layout is optimized any medium where a linear reading flow enhances recognition. The sign and the wordmark sit on a unified axis, maintaining balanced spacing and preserving the geometric logic of the visual system.

The vertical composition introduces a more editorial, centered presence. It is used when the brand requires a stronger sense of focus or hierarchy. The tagline extends the composition downward, reinforcing the brand’s voice while maintaining consistent alignment and typographic structure.

I explored potential patterns for apparel, accessories, and printed materials through a study of movement-based geometry. By analyzing how the studio’s core forms behaved in motion, I identified combinations that produced fluid, repeatable structures and revealed unexpected feminine nuances.

The logo’s counterforms became a functional tool: they allowed integrating photography, building accent compositions, and expanding the visual language without breaking the underlying geometry.

For typography, I combined a classic serif with a modern grotesk. This contrast provided diverse tonal options in communication — from warm and editorial to direct and contemporary.

The color system grew from the initial red and was extended with soft beige tones echoing interior materials and natural skin hues, supported by a neutral gray for balance and structural depth.
